1969
The Stadtapotheke in Judenburg used to produce a great amount of house specialties. A tube filling machine was bought in order to work even more professionally. However, this did not really pay off. At the end of the 1970s, Mag. pharm. Dieter Gall then had the idea of using this machine to bottle the Vaseline, which was very popular at the time, and sell it to wholesalers.
1970-1980

At the end of the 1970s, Mag. pharm. Dieter Gall then had the idea of using this machine to bottle the Vaseline, which was very popular at the time, and sell it to wholesalers.
1981
The idea was well received, and Vaseline became a bestseller. However, he was advised not to put the label “Stadtapotheke Judenburg” on the product. Without further ado, the chosen manufacturer became “Gall Pharma”. It was a fantasy name since the company didn’t actually exist back then. 1981 was the year in which the dream became a reality: Gall Pharma, at that time as a registered single proprietorship, was officially founded.
Gall Pharma’s name quickly became well known in Austria. The company has always had the skill to identify and discover international trends in the field of nutritional supplements at an early stage. Therefore, wholesalers got used to asking Gall when certain ingredients weren’t available in Austria.
1994
Until 1994, Gall Pharma was still located in the premises of the Stadtapotheke in Judenburg, but this space soon became too narrow. In search of a suitable location, Mag. pharm. Dieter Gall found what he was looking for in the Grünhüblgasse in Judenburg. 1991 a plot of land was acquired by the municipality of Judenburg and in autumn of 1993 the groundbreaking for the new building took place. The time had finally come in July of 1994 – the new company building was ready to move into. To this day, our head office is located there.
After Austria joined the EU, it didn’t take long before our neighboring countries saw the potential of Gall Pharma. The product range soon also celebrated international success. One top seller followed the next. Sometimes our shipping partners suffered under these circumstances, they were often overwhelmed with the great demand and numerous packages.
2000 – 2018
Between the years of 2000 and 2018, the company building was expanded to over 4000 m2 of usable space, to be able to satisfy customer needs and market demand. In addition, Mr. Mag. pharm. Dieter Gall also founded three subsidiaries in Germany. Hecht Pharma GmbH and Bios Medical Services both operate as pharmaceutical wholesalers, Leitner Lifecare GmbH sells various flower essences, Bach flowers and various alternative medical products.
Gall Pharma Austria has been active in the field of nutritional supplements and cosmetics for over 40 years and has become one of the largest suppliers in Europe. With over 100 employees, more than 1.000 different formulations and 35 million capsules sold each year, it makes us one of the leading producers of nutritional supplements.
